reseal envelope and write address with a crossing-out
start all over again with new envelope
hold up to light to check letter still in envelope
seal up with sticky tape in case envelope comes open
weigh to make sure recipient doesn’t have to pay surcharge
post in mailbox
waggle hand in slot to check letter not stuck 
walk away
look back to check letter hasn’t blown back out and onto the ground
start thinking about the hundreds of miles the letter has to travel
go home and send email instead
